Modern Family 9-23-09

Modern Family is a show about 2 siblings, their families, and their dad. One sibling is married with 3 kids. The second sibling is a Gay man in a relationship, and has just adopted a baby girl from Vietnam. The Dad (Ed Bundy) is in his 60's and is remarried to a young, 30ish, Latina with a child from her first marriage.

The show is in a setting of a quasi-reality show much like The Office or Parks and Recreation. I am not a huge fan of that setting but it works for Modern Family.

This was the premiere for Modern Family, and I am hooked! This show had me laughing out loud on several occasions.

Right now, Modern Family is a MUST DVR!

Mercy 9-23-09

Mercy premiered tonight on NBC. The preview commercials had given me high hopes for this show. I really like the idea of a smart nurse caring for patients, and calling out idiots when she needs to. Overall the show was good, but it seemed that the best parts where shown in the commercials.

I think this show has potential but could get too "busy" if they continue to develop all of the plot lines they started tonight; new nurse, nurse returning from Iraq, nurse and her on again off again engagement, new Dr that a nurse had an affair with, another nurse who is dating a high powered lawyer but slept with a cop. Like I said there are a lot of plot lines to follow, and I skipped a few.

I think this show might go somewhere if they slow it down a bit and let the characters get developed.

As for now, this show is going on my DVR schedule. What do you think? Feel free to comment.
